Area Police
Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they reported.
Police then found many other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state early analysis show the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for tips.
A senior political figure stated the vandalism left him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine people by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
